But, Brahma refuses to fulfil Tarakasura 's demand. Tarakasura tricks Brahma and requests that he shall be killed only by Shiv's progeny. Brahma grants T?rak?sura his wish. Devlok is terrified of this prospect as Tarakasura wants to take over the realm of the gods.

A worried Goddess Parvati tells Lord Shiva that the portrait of the child she drew has somehow become disfigured. Lord Shiva assures Goddess Parvati that the image is a reflection of what is awaiting her in the near future. When Lord Shiva informs her that they will have a second child soon, Goddess Parvati asks him about the promise he had made to the Devas.
