KO invites WING to do voluntary work. WING finds that she still have feelings for KO. WING goes out with MING. MING decides to run after her. HOI is 80 thousand dollars in debt. He casts his greedy eyes on the personal savings of his wife, YIN. As SHING’s dead body has been found, CHI reminds YUEN not to give himself away in front of TSUN. LUNG’s elder son is studying overseas. TSUN is moving into a new office. LUNG therefore persuades TSUN into working for him. WING learns that KO does not have a girlfriend at the moment. She decides to do everything she can to win his heart again. HOI’s family learns about his running into debt. MAN, his stepdaughter, scolds YIN. KO is so angry that he slaps MAN on the face. YIN runs out of the door in tears. KO and HOI run after her. WING texts KO and invites him out. MAN deletes the message maliciously.

MING plans to mount an operation code-named The Brink of Law to round up YUEN and his gang. WING and MING are now lovers. She visits MING at his place. She hurts CHING’s feelings accidentally. She also comes to know how MING and CHING became orphans. The loan shark troubles HOI’s family. HOI is very guilty. TSUN works as an Assistant Manager in the Marketing Department at LUNG’s company. He has a meeting with his colleagues, during which he notices that YUEN is very protective towards their product spokesman, APPLE, whose performance is far from satisfactory. On the day of the re-shooting, YEE finds out that APPLE abuses drug. YEE passes the evidence to TSUN secretly. LUNG decides to rescind APPLE’s contract. YUEN makes sarcastic remarks at TSUN. TSUN gives CHING a few words of consolation. He also encourages her to apply for the post of merchandiser at his company. The loan shark pours water on MAN, who is frightened to death.… ...

BIU faxes to the court where KO works about HOI owes him money. HOI visits YIN. MAN tells him that YIN has gone to the mainland to avoid him. HOI’s heart breaks. HOI is on the way to the court to see his son when he hears that everyone in the court knows he is in debt. He wrongly believes that the chance for KO to be transferred to the post of Government Counsel is slim because of his running into debt. HOI ends his life to show his repentance. KO is home. He wants to share with HOI the news of his transference, but HOI is nowhere to be seen. KO finds a letter written by HOI before he died. It turns out that HOI has got everything wrong. First of all KO’s transference has not been affected by his debt. Secondly YIN has only gone to mainland to sell their ancestral house so that she can pay off his debt. MING runs across BIU when he is going out with WING. It takes him by surprise that BIU is a loving father. MING has caught BIU.… ...

YUEN is bailed out. LUNG gives him a good dressing down. CHI puts in a good word for him, making other family members believe that YUEN was in fact about to wash his hands off the bookmaking business when he was arrested. The LUNGs are under great pressure because of the wide coverage of the incident. YUEN plans to do a moonlight flit but he is stopped by CHI, who assures him that she is able to exculpate him. Their conversation is overheard by CHIU. BIU, the prosecution witness, changes his statement in the court suddenly and denies that YUEN is the man in charge of the bookmaker’s. MING suspects that BIU is under threat. It turns out the reason for his changing statement is because his son has been kidnapped. MING saves BIU’s son. YUEN is sentenced to four years in jail. KO visits HOI’s grave to tell him the good news. MING is relaxing himself at home now that the case has been cracked.… ...

To cheer his mother up, KO invites MING and WING to dinner at his place. WING can see that YIN still cannot get over HOI’s death. Making use of her professional knowledge, WING lets YIN understand the importance of her to step out of her grief. WING also takes YIN and KO to a gathering where families of compulsive gamblers share and support each other. YIN and KO’s pressure has hugely been reduced. WING discovers that MING has been accommodating her. She tells him that lovers should share their likes and dislikes with each other. To her disappointment, MING does not understand what she means. TSUN bumps into WING. He invites her to be the product spokesman of his company but is turned down at once. Later, TSUN meets her again in MING’s place. MING asks WING to accept TSUN’s invitation. WING feels that the gap between her and MING is getting wider and wider. CHING has become TSUN’s colleague.… ...

MING has been very down since his break up with WING. He has a car accident. In order not to worry CHING, he and WING cover up their break up. KO and WING bumps into each other when they are visiting MING in the hospital. They have reconciled with each other, and agree that they won’t go back to each other for the sake of MING. What they do not know is, MING learns about everything by chance. MING hears from the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) that YUEN’s bookmaking business has staged a comeback, and that YUEN and CHI’s father is member of the Triad. MING can see that WING still loves KO. He arranges an appointment with WING and MING, during which he tells them not to sacrifice for him. MING feels relived that he has settled his relationship with WING. Unfortunately, he later falls into a trap and is killed by a killer. CHING is deeply grieved. What hurts her even more is when she finds out that KO is going out with WING.… ...

TSUN tells YEE that he only regards her as his cousin and nothing more. This comes as a great blow to YEE. ANITA, YEE’s superior, has been making things difficult for her and has even complained her in front of TSUN. YEE swears to revenge. MAN meets CHIU at his pub. The two become lovers. LUNG and CHI learn by chance that Moonlight, their competitor, has copied their design. CHING and YEE discover that ANITA has contacted Moonlight’s executives. Investigation of a private detective confirms that it was ANITA who sold the design to Moonlight. ANITA is fired. It is in fact a plot set by YEE to get rid of ANITA. YEE has also earned a great deal of money from this. LONG, LUNG’s elder son has finished his studies in England and returned. CHI is excited. TSUN and KO know that CHING has not really got over the death of MING yet. TSUN therefore takes even better care of her.

KO runs into MAN and CHIU. MAN’s behavior suggests that she has taken drugs. KO therefore takes her away by force. KO goes to TSUN for help. TSUN tells CHIU not to have a hand in drugs but CHIU turns a deaf ear to him. It is rumored that TSUN is going to lose his power and leave the company when LONG comes. On hearing this, CHING shows her concern to TSUN. On one hand, LUNG asks TSUN to stay and promotes him Manager of the Marketing Department. On the other, he appoints LONG CEO. LONG goes for an outing with his colleagues. TSUN takes the opportunity to reveal his love to CHING. Though surprised, CHING gladly accepts him. YEE, who has been following them, witnesses everything. KO follows MAN to CHIU’s pub. There he confirms his suspect that it is CHIU who taught MAN to take soft drugs. CHIU frames KO up. The police have found some drugs on KO. For CHIU’s sake, MAN points the finger at KO.… ...

MAN moves out to live with CHIU. She tells her mother how much she enjoys her present life when they are having tea. TSUN suggests LUNG to invite KO to work for him. LUNG agrees to meet KO. CHI is involved in arms trafficking. She suffers a great loss as the police have confiscated her arms. YUEN suffers from acute kidney failure and his days are numbered. YEE and CHI are very worried. LUNG’s company is facing a charge of copyright infringement brought by an international brand. He asks KO to solve the matter. This is a very challenging task as the other party has got valid evidence. KO devotes every effort to it and finally manages to persuade the other side into cooperation. LUNG’s company has gained considerable fame from the cooperation. TSUN tells his family he is going out with CHING. CHI doesn’t care much; YEE is burnt with jealousy. CHING and YIN run into CHIU, who is with another girl.… ...

CHING is attacked. Fortunately, TSUN happens to return and helps her fight away the man. CHIU wants to borrow three hundred thousand dollars from CHI. CHI deduces from this that CHIU has something to do with the attack of CHING. LONG requests TSUN to go on a business trip to Switzerland with him. What is more, he also transfers CHING into the Design Department. YEE is not pleased. WING has returned to Hong Kong. She tells KO that she is staying for further career development. TSUN invites his friends to have fun at the clubhouse, where WING runs into LUNG. LUNG expresses that it is a pity that WING refused to work with them. To everyone’s surprise, WING agrees to be the spokesperson of his products right away. LUNG is thrilled to bits. YEE does everything she can to go to Switzerland with LONG. She cannot make it in the last minute when she finds that her passport has been bitten into pieces by CHI’s dog.… ...

LONG has an accident in Switzerland. His backbone is injured and he is paralyzed since. CHI takes good care of him. CHI is touched that YEE also shows considerable care for her son. LONG is home. CHI flies into a rage when CHIU brings home a large quantity of adult nappy. CHI’s attitude towards TSUN changes when she sees that TSUN takes the initiative to attend to LONG. She tells TSUN that she has forgiven him, to which he is very glad. Looking at CHI, TSUN misses his mother, LI SHUK LING, who left him not long after she had given birth to him. TSUN comes across a woman who looks very much like his mother in front of the office building. The woman slips. TSUN takes her to hospital. KO is a bit surprised by his offering to take the woman to hospital. TSUN’s mother tells him that she has a second marriage.… ...

TSUN learns from the conversation of LING and LUNG that he is an illegitimate child of LUNG. LING is leaving Hong Kong. Before she leaves, she meets with TSUN to say how sorry she is for him. She also reminds him not to tell PANG the true story so as not to hurt him. As an act to fulfill his filial duty, TSUN writes LING a check for a large amount of money secretly. LUNG takes away TSUN’s juice for laboratory test. His act has been seen by YEE. LUNG talks to TSUN. LUNG demands TSUN not to maintain their present relationship and not to avoid him, claiming that this is for the benefit of PANG. LONG can move his finger. His family is all very happy. It is the first day for MAN to work as a waitress. CHIU dines at the restaurant where she works. CHIU has offended other bookies for his men accept bets in other bookies’ turfs. CHIU feels smug nevertheless. CHI goes to LUNG’s office to ask him out for lunch.… ...

The truth is out. PANG is burnt with anger. He has a heart attack when he is running after LUNG to beat him. LUNG pleads for CHI’s forgiveness. Though still angry, CHI pretends that she will forgive him. TSUN assures PANG that he is still his father no matter what. The father and son are even closer to each other. LUNG has a talk with PANG. PANG accuses LUNG of destroying his family. He also tells LUNG that he will move out. LUNG immediately goes and asks TSUN whether he will move out with PANG. LUNG indicates that he will give all his shares to TSUN as compensation. LONG has been doing well. Nevertheless, the doctor has found a tumor in his brain. If it is not treated, LONG may go blind. CHI is sorrowful. She requests her family members not to tell LONG about his having a brain tumor.… ...

CHI decides to deal with TSUN so as to protect LONG. LUNG asks for WING’s advice as to how to relieve stress. WING tells him exercising is the best way. WING volunteers to be his partner when she learns that he knows social dancing. The two have a very good time dancing. LUNG appreciates WING even more. MAN buys her family members presents after she has received her salary. YIN is very pleased. TSUN goes hiking alone. CHI sends a killer to kill him. TSUN is attacked. Fortunately, he is saved by some passerby and KO, who joins him in the hiking. KO finds something left by the attacker. He takes that to the police station and tells the police what he thinks of the case. LUNG invites CHI to social dancing. This reminds her of her 32-year-marriage with him. She finally accepts LUNG’s apology. The police find MING’s death suspicious. They contact KO and invite him to get close to CHI to collect more evidence.… ...

PANG believes that it was CHI who sent the killer but TSUN doesn’t think so. PANG suffers from coronary heart disease and needs an operation immediately. However, as he wants to immigrate to New York with TSUN as soon as possible he chooses to take medicine instead for the time being. TSUN proposes to CHING. She promises to move to the States with him. LUNG asks PANG not to move to the US. PANG retorts that what LUNG does want to see really is for TSUN to leave the family. LUNG is speechless. LUNG turns to LONG for help. LONG pleads TSUN to stay for one more year at the company. TSUN is moved at first, but then he forgets about the idea after talking to PANG. TSUN spends the night at CHING’s. When he wakes up, he is shocked to receive the news of PANG’s death! LING shows up at PANG’s grave to cheer TSUN up. CHI requests TSUN to leave the LUNGs, saying that he has got PANG’s legacy now.… ...

TSUN bids farewell to LONG. He encourages LONG to get well soon for his operation. TSUN moves into CHING’s place. The lovers look like newlyweds. WING consults LUNG on modeling contract, during which she praises him as a mature and reliable man. LUNG is delighted though he does not show it. KO recommends a renowned herbal doctor to TSUN. CHIU does not welcome him; CHI gives CHIU a good lesson. LUNG is actually involved in CHI’s arms trafficking. CHI has to go to the doctor’s with LONG. She invites WING to be LUNG’s partner at a charity ball. WING calls off her appointment with KO so as to attend the ball. KO is upset, for it has taken him quite an effort to get the tickets to the concert. WING tells LUNG at the ball that she has had a fight with KO. LUNG gives her some words of consolation. KO reads from a magazine that WING has bought a present for LUNG.… ...

LUNG is in New York on munitions business. He is thrilled when he sees WING show up suddenly. KO has hired a speech therapist for LONG. CHI asks KO is there anything he thinks she can help him with. KO tells her he needs seven hundred thousand urgently. CHI then asks him to launder for her. KO is stopped by the CIB when he is delivering the money. He is requested to testify against CHI but he refuses to cooperate. This is in fact a set up CHI uses to test KO’s loyalty. KO visits TSUN. Inspired by TSUN, KO buys WING a pot of plant with romantic message carved on it. WING has retuned. KO discovers that she has been to New York. The lovers have another fight. Next day evening, KO sees LUNG driving WING home and gives her a diamond necklace. KO asks WING for an explanation. WING demands a break up. The police crack CHIU’s bookmaker’s. CHIU resists arrest and takes a police officer hostage.

LUNG blames CHI for not handling the matter well and affecting the stock price of the company. CHI retorted if it was not her connection with the underworld the company would have been folded up years ago. LUNG is struck dumb. YEE visits YUEN in prison. YUEN tells YEE that CHI is in fact the person in charge of the bookmaker’s. YEE asks CHI if it is the case, to which CHI admits frankly. TSEUNG YIU-KUEN, owner of Moonlight, wants to buy up LUNG’s company. He threatens YEE to gather confidential information of LUNG’s company for him. If she refuses, he will make YEE’s framing up ANITA public. YEE has no choice but to do as told. CHI trusts KO a lot. LUNG also promotes him Marketing Manager. YEE wants to prevent KUEN from buying up LUNG’s company. She deliberately spreads the news to the reporters. YUEN is beaten up in jail because of this. YEE confesses to CHI. With the support of YUEN and LONG, she finally wins the forgiveness of CHI.

KO is installing spy software in CHI’s computer when she suddenly shows up behind him. Fortunately and surprisingly, WING comes to his rescue. It turns out that WING is a Canadian police officer. She gets close to LUNG only to collect evidence of his munitions trafficking group. CHING and TSUN visit LONG when LUNG and CHI are out. YEE tells them she and LONG are lovers. Meanwhile, LUNG returns. He tells TSUN he has changed his mind and that he doesn’t need TSUN to help him with his business any more. What’s more, he puts up a tired looks in front of TSUN on purpose. The next morning, YEE tells CHI TSUN and YEE have come to visit LONG. She also reminds CHI to be careful with CHING, which she describes as calculating. YUEN is on his deathbed. CHI and YEE rush to see him. LUNG suggests keeping YUEN’s funeral low key. CHI disagrees with him. The couple has a fight again. WING makes CHI believe that she has an affair with LUNG.… ...

Feeling that she is no longer valued in the company, YEE tells CHING frankly that she is not exactly a good person, and that she has been pretending to be one only. TSUN overhears their conversation. YEE has to think of a way to deal with TSUN before it is too late. For LONG’s sake, TSUN tells LUNG about the true side of YEE. LONG has an accident. YEE risks her life to save him. CHI, who witnesses the whole accident, believes that YEE loves LONG wholeheartedly. LUNG transfers YEE to his office in Shanghai. CHI reasons with him in anger and resigns on behalf of YEE. WING provokes CHI. Not long after, WING is attacked. LUNG insists that CHI is the person behind the attack. CHI has received a munitions order. She plans to call off the trade because of the close attention the police have been paying to them recently. LUNG decides to take over the munitions trafficking business.… ...

LUNG, half drunk, wants to go to bed with WING. Tactfully, she gets rid of him and even makes him promise to wait till he has divorced CHI. CHING is two months pregnant. TSUN is very excited. YEE expresses her love for LONG. LUNG opposes to their marriage. CHI therefore suggests their wedding be held when LUNG is out of town. KO leaks their plan to CHING. LUNG rushes back to stop his son from marrying YEE but LONG will not change his mind. LUNG is delighted beyond measure to hear that CHING is pregnant. He takes very good care of her. YEE provokes CHI into believing that TSUN and CHING are coveting LUNG’s wealth. CHI sends a killer to kill the couple but the killer fails his mission. KO asks TSUN to help him collect LUNG’s evidence of guilt. For CHING’s safety, TSUN arranges her to live in Canada for the time being.

KO, LUNG, WING, and the others are having a meeting. KO has to leave midway because his mother YIN has fallen sick. LUNG finds it suspicious that WING seems to care a lot about KO’s mother. LUNG finds out later that WING has not really broken up with KO. WING is ambushed on the way home. The next day, LUNG implies to her that it was him who sent the man to attack her. He also rescinds his contract with WING. LUNG reminds CHI to beware of KO. CHI discovers that their house is being tapped. KO’s car explodes. Luckily he is not hurt. CHI reveals in front of LONG that TSUN is his elder brother, and that the reason why TSUN did not leave was because he is casting his eyes on LUNG’s wealth. This comes as a blow to LONG. WING and KO’s identity have been exposed. TSUN sneaks into LUNG’s room to get his keys, not knowing that LUNG is inside.

TSUN has found out where LUNG and CHI hide their evidence of guilt. Meanwhile, LUNG and the others have returned. TSUN learns from their conversation that PANG could have been saved if it was not for LUNG. LUNG kills TSUN. The police come to the TUNGs to search for TSUN but CHI has already had TSUN’s body taken away. What she does not know is she has left evidence during the process. YEE vents her anger on LONG. LONG realizes then the evils deeds of his parents. LONG drowns himself in the swimming pool, hoping that CHI would repent. CHI, who sees the whole incident, has suffered from an emotional breakdown. The killer has been caught. WING returns from Canada, only to receive the news of TSUN’s death. The police come to arrest CHI, but they cannot find LUNG’s evidence of guilt anywhere. KO has found some clues in TSUN’s voice mail he left before he died. LUNG, carrying a gun, takes CHING hostage…
