Romance develops when Bronk is assigned to protect Kate, who plans to turn state's evidence against her ex-boyfriend, syndicate boss Ben Capote. As the mob closes in, a fast game of hide-and-seek begins with Bronk beginning to suspect a set-up.

Bronk has always felt the so-called accident was the result of a contract on him and the mayor and district attorney feel this killer hunt is more emotional than objective.
