The courtroom is packed to capacity -- lawyer Ayame Hanajin (Kumiko Aso) sits in the defendant's seat. "What was that crime...?" she mutters to herself as if asking herself... And then -- the trial of a "murder case" begins -- time rewinds to one year ago -- Ayame works hard every day as an excellent, solitary lawyer. One day, she is invited as a panelist to a domestic violence victim seminar held by a women's group where charismatic businessman Yoko Mogami (Misuzu Kanno) serves as a director, and there she meets a woman. The pretty woman, who calls herself Natsune Minamoto (Kana Kita), works as a manicurist at the salon run by Yoko, and her husband and Yoko's son Jun (Motoki Ochiai) were classmates in high school, so she and her husband are living in a detached room in Yoko's house. Furthermore, even though she hints at the fact that her husband is abusing her out of love, she smiles meaningfully and leaves the scene.

The courtroom is completely filled to capacity -- lawyer Ayame Kajin (Kumiko Aso) sits in the defendant's seat. "What was that crime... for?" she mutters, as if asking herself... "I will defend you." Lawyer Ayame Kajin (Kumiko Aso) listens to the plea of Natsune Minamoto (Kana Kita) who is crying, "Help my husband!" and visits the detention center to see her husband, Toya Minamoto (Akihisa Shiono). Toya is suspected of being the "murderer" in the mysterious death of Ayame's mentor, university professor Okutaro Nada (Shiro Sano). Nada's wife Yoko Mogami (Misuzu Kanno) testifies that she saw Toya leaving the scene last night when the incident occurred.
