Uncle Richie tries to fix the refrigerator; Patricia hatches a plan to extend their stay in the town of Charlton.

Patricia and her uncle throw a party to try to catch Mitchell, the town bully, but Toby shows up by accident and puts himself in danger.

As the Moore family stockpiles food using a surprisingly brutal method, Patricia can no longer deny her feelings for Toby and wants to make amends for what happened the night before.

After threatening the family's safety, Patricia's mother forces her to confront the Moores's monstrous actions, which are spiralling out of control.

Patricia says goodbye to Tob; Richie discovers that Marnie's methods don't work with Patricia and takes advantage of a boat ride to teach her a lesson she won't soon forget.

After tying up loose ends, the Moores are able to continue their journey, but Patricia is reluctant to return to live in the wild.

Toby is taken hostage, exposing the Moore family. As they run away, Patricia tries to save Toby from ending up in the freezer, leading the family to a tragic end.
