The Road: The Tragedy of One

Soo Hyun and Seok Hoon think that everything involved in the death of Yoon Dong Pil is fabricated. Meanwhile, at the funeral of Jun Yeong, Seo Young holds a press conference and reveals that the dead child was his son, and not Soo Hyun’s son.

Soo Hyun finds out that Yeo Jin is deeply involved in the kidnapping incident. Gyeong Sook tells Jeong Wook to leave the country to cover up his crime, but he gets arrested by the police at the airport. Se Ra begs Nam Kyu to help her so that she won’t get arrested. Meanwhile, Seo Young gets a call from a man who claims to know the kidnapper

The only eyewitness has been found dead, and the evidence related to the culprit’s identity has also disappeared into thin air. No evidence has been confirmed, but the residents of Royal the Hill struggle to hide the traces that may harm their reputation. As revealed in the autopsy results, suspicious evidence surfaces one after another, and Seo Young sits at a BSN News Night interview, cornering Soo Hyun with difficult questions.

Seo Young fails to get what she wanted from the live news as Soo Hyun succeeds in drawing all the attention. Seo Young changes her plan and tries to reveal Eun Soo’s secret to Soo Hyun without knowing the fact that Eun Soo knows what Seo Young did to her son before he died. Meanwhile, Gi Tae, who is convinced that Tae Seob has the original copy, threatens him with a gun.

Eun Soo’s instinct tells her that Soo Hyun is in trouble as soon as she hears about his disappearance, and she begins to look for him. Meanwhile, with Chief Kwon by her side, Seo Young takes over Soo Hyun’s position as a replacement. As Jeong Wook gets resummoned by the police for investigation, an impostor blackmails Chairman Seo Gi Tae with the original files.

Soo Hyun finds out who was trying to make a deal with Chairman Seo and ends up getting the original file. As soon as he does, he approaches Assembly Hwang’s aide for his statements. But this makes things more complicated for Soo Hyun and Eun Soo.

Soo Hyun swears that Oh Jang Ho is the culprit of the kidnapping case, but the solid evidence that was kept hidden by the aide points to Hwang Tae Seob. As a result, Hwang Tae Seob gets immediately arrested, and this whole situation pans out in favour of Seo Gi Tae. Meanwhile, Soo Hyun eventually gets his hands on one of the photos Park Seong Hwan submitted to the insurance company regarding the car accident.

Mi Do decides to stay silent, and every suspect desperately tries to cover the truth of their own. With Chief Kwon’s support, Seo Young officially announces Soo Hyun’s scandal on the news, trying to secure her position as the new anchor. Soo Hyun notices that there’s another accomplice and heads to Oh Jang Ho’s house to find solid evidence.

It’s been 37 days since the kidnapping took place, and the full account of the story is about to be revealed. However, Soo Hyun still remains confused, and the situation becomes worse and worse for him. Even with all the evidence pointing to Soo Hyun’s being guilty, Seok Hoon is confident that there is a missing piece to the story. Meanwhile, Seo Young loses patience and takes extreme measures to find the answer.

After he loses everything, Soo Hyun realizes what he has truly lost. He deeply resents himself for being foolish over the long years, but it only puts him in more despair. Eun Soo reaches out for Soo Hyun once again, and Soo Hyun confesses everything to her for the first time. He finally feels that he’s been saved.
