Danni Lowinski

A 20 year old disabled girl has not much time left to live, but still wants to have surgery to look more beautiful for the days that remain. Danni is determined to make her wish come true, but meets a lot of resistance.

Fresh widow Eline Cuypers is desperate, learning she is about to lose her house because of her husband's hidden debts. Danni also defends school bus driver Freddy Bols, who got fired after the board found out he is a former alcohol addict.

An immigrant teen claims to be unlawfully ruled out of school. Danni decides to set up a meeting between Karim and his former teacher, but things get out of hand when the woman states he raped her.

Sven Ceuleers wants to quit his job and go study abroad, but is forbidden because Social Welfare wants him to take on the health costs of his sick mother, even though she does not want her son to pay. Meanwhile Danni is worried because her own father Roman is missing.

Danni gives some money to a female beggar. Few moments later the woman reproaches her with a strange story: after a drunk night she made a nasty fall, and the next day she woke up in the hospital with an amputated arm.

Madeleine is an old acquaintance of Danni, since she had a newsstand next to her former high school. Now her landlord wants to sell the building, so that it can be demolished to make room for a supermarket. Meanwhile Danni also accepts a difficult divorce case.

Danni's husband, construction worker Andy, is back, but unlike her father she refuses to spend any time with him, instead suggesting it's time to file for divorce. Meanwhile she resort to dirty tricks, even making Fouad impersonate a teacher, in the case of Kemal Ozlan's daughter Zenyep, who opposes an arranged marriage in Turkey but shows no sense of responsibility and withholds the crucial truth.

Danny takes the case of Frankie Hoste, who is turning blind since he participated in Dr. De Weert's medical research tests. Med student Dries Boone is 'hired' as ideal witness, but hid his excessive activities, so poor Niels is bullied into volunteering. Danni is suspended after violent rejection of judge Erik Hanssens's sensual moves, so Olivier Smets sends her an apprentice, whom he must ultimately replace last-minute. Ex Andy proves carnally irresistible. Father Lowinski proves the utter nightmare client.

Danni and Andy are finally getting divorced, but Andy does not seem to be keen to make things go easy. Meanwhile the 15 year old girl Mia asks for Danni's help. Her mother is about to move, but Mia herself wants to stay in town with her boyfriend.

Shy Ryan (12) is charged after his well-trained pit-bull attack the neighbors older son. Dani leaves the canine 'suspect' with her father for company, but he also sends it on 'bothersome' youths. Fuat inherits his father's loaded gun, without a permit. Olivier and Dani's dating plans style-clash amusingly. Finally, a lunatic disengagement.

After a terrible accident, a motor rider is lying in a coma, while his girlfriend gets approached to pay a compensation of 12,000 Euros to the opponent. Just when Danni learns she can earn a lot of money from accepting this case, her boyfriend Olivier takes it away from her.
