My Father's Son

KA-FAT bet on a presummed sure win horse. But when a pair of underpants fell on his head, he thought CHOR-YAT did that on purpose. He went up stairs and raised hell. KWOK-HIN happened to be in the shop when CHUNG-YEE walked in to buy a chicken. He was stun by her beauty and started to follow her around. HAW-YIN is hearted-broken, but tries to make him jealous, by admitting she's got other admires. When that failed, she hinted that they ought to be married. But, KWOK-HIN refused to acknowledge. On their first date, CHUNG-YEE told KWOK-HIN she'll bring along a friend. But when that turned out to be her boy friend since knee-high, he was very upset. KA-FAT disapproves of SIU-KIU's lazines and untidyness around the house. But he can't do anything because she's always goods at covering up.

SIU-KIU and CHUNG-HAN were robbed when shopping. But SIU-KIU later changed her statement and let the addict free and CHUNG-HAN was puzzled. YEN-WAI's always tired since he's marred. The boys thought it's SIU-KIU's fault. When they found out it's because they're playing cards nightly, they're amased. The market is having clean-up campaign. They won first prize because SIU-KIU flurt with the Chairman. YEN-WAI thinks HAW-YIN is a nice girl and KWOK-HIN shouldn't treat her so coldly. But SIU-KIU insist that feelings cannot be forced and YEN-WAI heeled. CHUNG-HAN was again robbed and ELLEN happened to help her out. They became immediately good friends.

When YEN-WAI was notified that his father and half brother are coming back, he became very angry. Because he and his mother were left behind by his father who went off to the States and got married again and they had to live very poorly in the family house in the country side. YEN-WAI's father is a well-to-do cold meat merchant, but his wife stopped him from taking care of them. And YEN-WAI took in a chicken farm and takes care of themselves. He hasn't seen his father for half his life, so now he prepares a good meal and a comfortable place ready to welcome him. His auntie is most pleased to see this from him. When they were at the airport, his half brother, YEN-KIT, was carrying only their father's ashes. He was also told they must carry on with the cold meat business and to live in the old house. This is too much for YEN-WAI.

YEN-WAI further mistook YEN-KIT for delaying their father's return, and now tries to deprive him from the will. The situation is appalling. YEN-WAI's forced to move in with YEN-KIT. They've occupied the up stairs of the duplex house. CHUNG-CHIT came to help when he ran into YEN-KIT, they were shocked. SIU-KIU saw the situation. In the early days, CHUNG-HAN was sent of study abroad, that's where she met up with YEN-KIT, who's deeply attracted by her.

CHUNG-HAN's lover got killed in an accident while she became pregnant. She soon let YEN-KIT believed he's the father. ELLEN, his wife, never knew because they live in different States. But CHUNG-HAN always feels guilty and finally made up her mind to return to Hong Kong, but she still meets ELLEN by accident, and became good friends. SIU-KIU thought them homosexuals when they behave strangely, and told everybody about it. KWOK-HIN followed them home one day and was told YEN-KIT was a friend of CHUNG-HAN's husband. KWOK-HIN was satisfied. SIU-KIU's friend wants to sell out a beauty palour. She immediately called CHUNG-HAN and ELLEN who quickly agreed to take over with her. YEN-KIT was at CHUNG-HAN's place when ELLEN suddenly arrived. They were quick to hide him and avoided an embarrassed situation. CHUNG-YEE feels so sorry for her mother and wanted to tell ELLEN all about it, but was stopped.

When CHUNG-HAN realised ELLEN is the wife of YEN-KIT, she wanted out of the business. The other two objects strongly and she gave in. KWOK-HIN refused HAW-YING's company although she pretends to be drunk. During the outing, YEN-KIT thought SANDY might be rude to CHUNG-YEE, so he asked KWOK-HIN to take care of her, which he agreed immediately. On the opening day of YEN-KIT's cold meat store, YEN-WAI gave him a basket of flowers with "fresh chicken" written on it. YEN-KIT just smiled at it. CHUNG-HAN gets to know ELLEN better and likes her more nowadays. That makes her even more guilty about sharing her husband. On the other hand, YEN-KIT get more nervous about the togetherness of the two women and his daughter.

CHOR-YAT's mother thinks her daughter ought to be married, and starts match-making for her. KA-FAT made her a laughing stock. HAW-YING apologized to KWOK-HIN about pressing for his love and that surprised him. KWOK-HIN knows that CHUNG-YEE and SANDY work together in the same office, that means more chance to see each other, the fact makes him sad. CHOR-YAT was told to dress and behave better next time there's a date. But KA-FAT and his friends made fun at her so much that she left angrily. There goes another chance.

At a school dance, HAW-YIN dressed sexily to attract the boys so to annoy KWOK-HIN, but failed. Disappointed, she left and met a few thugs who seems fond of her. Fortunately KWOK-HIN was therein time to the rescue. HAW-HIN found out that KWOK-HIN's lost his job, but afraid to let his family know about it, she promised to keep this to herself. CHOR-YAT and KA-FAT both join an opera class, they provoke each other often. CHUNG-HAN is depressed going between ELLEN and YEN-KIT, and wanted to leave Hong Kong for a while. YEN-KIT didn't understand and don't seem to care until it was explained to him by CHUNG-YEE.

YEN-KIT offered a job to KWOK-HIN seeing he's a good hard working young man. They both withhold the news from YEN-WAI. YEN-KIT's sudden appearance to join CHUNG-HAN on a trip made her most happy. SIU-KIU wants a holiday and when YEN-WAI suggested Thailand to see her family, she shuts up altogether in case her lies about herself spilts. The aunty also promised to keep the secret about KWOK-HIN working for YEN-KIT.

One of the aunt's friends recognized SIU-KIU as a maid before. CHUNG-YEE received a lot of attention from ELLEN. When she remembers KWOK-HIN is her half brother, she becomes very confused. SIU-KIU cannot respond to the questions about Thailand when CHOR-YAT asked her, YEN-WAI became suspicious. KA-FAT saw SIU-KIU with another man, and told his father. He became more suspicious because she's been asking for a lot of money recently. He had her followed.

SIU-KIU was borned by an unwed mother, and after she died, her brother took care of her. But he was an addict and lots of time was spent in jail. She has to work as a maid to support herself. The family now feels sorry for her. YEN-WAI was understanding and help him set up a business. But SIU-CHUN took the money and went gambling. After SIU-KIU gave him a good scolding, he finally understands and repent. KWOK-HIN persuade HAW-YING to take night courses. She did, and he's got time for CHUNG-YEE now. KWOK-HIN saw CHUNG-YEE picking up her parents at the airport and questioned her about it, but failed. CHUNG-YEE saw HAW-YING at YEN-WAI's house and being praised by all as KWOK-HIN's girl friend. She feels jealous and starts to drift from him which confused him.

KWOK-HIN got promoted and refused HAW-YING's date, but went to celebrate with his colleagues instead. She went and quarrelled with him, and meanwhile YEN-WAI listened and found out the secret and became fierce. After realizing how well his son is doing, he changed his mind about not letting him work there. YEN-KIT asked KWOK-HIN to give a necklace to CHUNG-YEE for her birthday. HAW-YING thought it's for her from KWOK-HIN. When she saw it on CHUNG-YEE's neck, she got so jealous. She became so depressed that her friend volunteers to check CHUNG-YEE up for her. When they saw CHUNG-YEE and SANDY so close, they are relieved. KA-FAT and CHOR-YAT are getting closer everyday.

HAW-YING got the job as an assistant to ELLEN, and now she's able to keep an eye on CHUNG-YEE. Meanwhile also keep on telling her how good KWOK-HIN is to her. That seems to work. YEN-KIT feels the stress CHUNG-HAN's having, and suggested they go away for a few days. Just then, ELLEN got ill and CHUNG-HAN refused the trip. HAW-YING hinted to KWOK-HIN that SANDY and CHUNG-YEE had fallen in love already. He was so disappointed. She and SANDY also joined forces to keep the other two apart. CHUNG-HAN's tired of her relationship with YEN-KIT, and treasure the friendship with ELLEN. So she's made up her mind to leave them.

ELLEN invited CHUNG-HAN for dinner. She saw how well ELLEN is treating YEN-KIT, she felt sorry for herself. YEN-KIT and his friend invested on a plot of land which partly belongs to him and his brother. Now YEN-WAI refused to sell and they fight again. SIU-KIU sees that CHOR-YAT and KA-FAT are in loved, but stubborn to each other, she suggested they all go for a barbaque and gave them some encouragement. But he sure made a fool of himself instead.

YEN-KIT persuaded YEN-WAI again and he turned hostile. He accused YEN-KIT of seduction towards CHUNG-YEE, but was defended by KWOK-HIN by revealing their relationship. They all agreed that has to be kept from ELLEN. KA-FAT asked CHOR-YAT for a date and she came dressing nicely. He's pleased. CHUNG-YEE's sick and HAW-YING makes sure that when KWOK-HIN visits her, SANDY will be there too, just to make him feel uneasy.

YEN-WAI wants to match-make CHUNG-HAN and his his friend CHEAU SEU-TUNG. YEN-KIT got jealous and quarrelled with her. YEN-KIT again persuade YEN-WAI to sell, but failed. ELLEN tried to help, and that provoked him. In anger, he revealed YEN-KIT's secret that shocked ELLEN. She went home and made YEN-KIT admit every thing to her. But won't forgive him. SIU-KIU disapproved of her husband's doing, and gave him the cold shoulders. YEN-WAI's sorry, but he can't do anything about now. CHUNG-HAN went to beg forgiveness from ELLEN, but got roared at instead.

KWOK-HIN finally told HAW-YING he will love only CHUNG-YEE. But HAW-YING refused to give up. KWOK-HIN and CHUNG-YEE both got drunk and spent a night together. He assured her they'd made love and she ought to marry him. But she refused. ELLEN is so hurt that she asked for a separation. YEN-KIT begged her to stay, but she refused.

CHUNG-HAN finally fell for SEU-TUNG and promised to marry him. YEN-KIT unfortunately walk into a commercial crime set-up. He feels very lonely for there is no one near him. CHUNG-YEE thought KWOK-HIN told HAW-YING about their relationship, and wanted to kill herself. And CHUNG-CHIT suddenly told them CHUNG-YEE's not YEN-KIT's daughter, that made everybody happy except YEN-KIT. HAW-YING realised there's no more hope, and turned to SANDY. Can KWOK-HIN and CHUNG-YEE have a happy ending? Will CHOR-YAT and KA-FAT carry on? Will YEN-KIT and ELLEN make up? Will these two half brothers live peacefully ever after?
