LAI KI arrives at Chun with hatred. She marries HIN KUNG but hates him deeply. Superficially, she obeys HIN KUNG very much but actually she is waiting for the chance to take revenge for her country. LAI KI tries every means to persuade HIN KUNG to release the Prince of Lai Yung and other captives. HIN KUNG finally promises her unwillingly. However, BOOT TAI is afraid that there would be some disastrous aftermaths, so he asks YI to kill all the captives. Nevertheless, YI does not want to have any further innocent death, so he releases all captives secretly and deceives HIN KUNG that he has already killed them. However, this is discovered by NG and he tells this to HIN KUNG. HIN KUNG orders to dig out the corpses to prove NG's saying. To his dismay, they dig out the corpses of those captives. YI and NG are very surprised also……

After SAN has discovered her secret, LAI KI makes a false accusation on SAN that he wants to assassinate her and announces that she is pregnant. This makes HIN KUNG very anxious. NG discovers by chance that the eunuch of HIN KUNG, BOOT TAI, is very good at 'kung fu'. He appreciates him very much and wants to treat him as his teacher. However, he is very uneasy because of the distrust between BOOT TAI and LO CHUK. In order to avoid further troubles, LAI KI puts aside her plan of revenge and waits for the growing up of her baby. Finally, HIN KUNG makes LAI KI the Lady of Chun. At first, SAN opposes to this. Later, he believes that LAI KI has totally given in, so he accepts her gradually. In receiving the invitation to the feudal lord gathering of Chai, HIN KUNG sends NG to the gathering so as to gain experience. On the way, NG meets a youth, WEI YING, and has conflicts with him……

YI discovers that NG is suffering from severe poison, so he goes to the encampments of QIN to get the antidote. But he is boarded ~y YING. Yi even wants to cut his own arm to exchange for the ant1dote but he is stopped by MUK KUNG in time. MUK KUNG appreciates him very much and gives him the antidote. YING remembers that she has not told YI the direction of using the antidote, so she goes to the inn at once. She treats NG with great care. YI appreciates her act and they impress each other deeply. SUNG SHANG KUNG is late to get into Chun's castle-gate. Fortunately, he meets the Prince of Chai, CHIU, and he is warmly welcomed by him. CHAI WUN KUNG has defeated Pak Dik. On his way home, he is greatly welcomed by his citizens. YI admires him very much. In fact, WUN KUNG is strongly helped by his follower, KWUN CHUNG, in establishing his country. After that, he always discusses any matter w1th h1m. This makes him gain increasing power.

YING and YI have developed deep passion after getting along with each other for days. One day, YING goes out to play secretly but her identity is discovered. So she hides in a forbidden place of Chai and commits the penalty of death. But she is saved by YI. From this event, WUN KUNG appreciates YI's ability and treats him as his own friend. He even wants to let YING marry him. But YI refuses it because of the greater importance of his country affairs. This makes WUN KUNG respect him even more. The King of Pak Dik, HA TAN, and his followers try to carry off WUN KUNG from his residence and force KWUN CHUNG to exchange the captives for WUN KUNG. KWUN CHUNG is very anxious because the date of feudal lord gathering is coming. In order to repay WUN KUNG, YI takes the risk to save WUN KUNG but is captured by the King of Pak Dik. YI persuades the King to exchange for the captives peacefully and the King agrees……

WUN KUNG trusts YI even more because he thinks that the act of releasing the King of Pak Dik not only makes the Kinq give in sincerely, but also appeases the citizens of Pak Dik. The imperial cook, YIK AH, kills his son for cooking in order to gain WUN KUNG's favour. This makes WUN KUNG trust him very much. But KWUN CHUNG believes that YIK AH must cause trouble to the country, so he persuades WUN KUNG to kill him. But WUN KUNG refuses to do so. YING gradually falls in love with YI and always finds the chance to accompany with him. On the other hand, NG also loves her and wants to use filthy means to get her love. But this is discovered by YI. Since then, NG hates YING and YI deeply. In order to get the honour for her country, YING is eager to join the Spring hunting. However, she loses the game and CHIU becomes the winner. In the market, YI meets an extinct citizen of the Country of YU, PAK LEE HAI……

HIN KUNG is very angry with YI because of his years of wandering outside. In addition, he gets a son, HAI CHAI, at his old age. So he treats LAI KI even better. Later, LAI KI even persuades HIN KUNG to have her son to be the prince. HIN KUNG promises her finally. KU TAK cannot endure HIN KUNG to be obscured by LAI KI anymore, so he sends CHIU CHUI to recall YI back to the country at once. However, LO CHUK is afraid that YI's return would hinder NG's succession to court rank, so he assassinates SHUI on his way. But SHUI can still escape from this. YING knows that MUK KUNG wants to have more capable people to help him, so she accepts YI's suggestion to set up a political forum in the market in order to gather more talent people. WUN KUNG is very envious of MUK KUNG'S act, so he sends his son, CHIU, to watch them; waiting for the chance to destroy their plan. HAI realises that and informs MUK KUNG to be careful of them……

WUN KUNG is afraid that when YI successfully succeeds to court rank, with his ability, he would make the country more powerful and this would threaten his own country. So he arranges the marriage between his daughter and YI and imprisons him. Later, YI is recurred by YING and he leaves for Ch un without any hindrance. After YI returns to Chun, he discusses with HIN KUNG about politics. He also persuades HIN KUNG to continue to have SAN as the prince because NG is too radical. However, this is heard by NG and NG hates YI even deeply. In view of LAI KI's plot to usurp authority, NG takes the first initiative to persecute HAI CHAI with poison. But CHAI is saved by SAN by chance. BOOT TAL just finds a dead body to be the persecutor. This makes LAI KI very angry. MUK KUNG is very afraid that HAI would be adopted by WUN KUNG. So he secretly sends HAI to leave the territory of CHAI. He also begs HAI to help him very sincerely……

YI meets WAH YU and little YING YI again. After days of learning by discussion, YI's 'kung fur improves a lot. MAO orders to still the food supplies for the army in order to reduce YI's high spirit. However, this is predicted by YI and YI has already asked the citizens to unite together to oppose to the brigands. This makes MAO unable to get the food supplies. MAO still goes fighting with YI and is finally defeated by YI. BUT YI does not penalize him but only persuades him to turn over a new leaf. MAO is very grateful to YI and follows YI sincerely since then. After HAI becomes the Prime Minister of Qin, he tries to improve the etiquette of the country. This makes many other major ministers dislike him. MUK KUNG finds it difficult to solve the problem. HAI predicts that QIN will later suffer from natural disasters and asks MUK KUNG to prepare for it. But MUK KUNG does not believe it. HAI gets away angrily……

In view of the disagreement between YI and NG, HAI suggests MUK KUNG to let YING marry NG so as to tempt him to betray his country, assisting MUK KUNG to take over Chun. YING is unwilling to marry NG, so she goes to ask YI to run away with her. However, in order to maintain his reputation, YI refuses her and YING loses her self-esteem. NG misunderstands that YI is intended to break his marriage. So he requests to fight with YI. YI fails and falls off the cliff. YING saves him without caring for her own life. They becomes friends in need and NG is envious of this. YI and NG are recalled to participate in the ceremony of HAI CHAI's becoming adult. YI is forced to leave YING unwillingly. On the other hand, MUK KUNG intends to hold up the wedding of YI and YING so as to have a better understanding of the situation in Chun. In order to abandon SAN's status as a prince, LAI KI poisons SAN secretly. This is discovered by CHAI by chance……

After SAN's death, LAI KI persuades HIN KUNG to make CHAI as the prince. NG wants to kill CHAI first but he is stopped by YI. HIN KUNG appreciates YI's virtuous behaviour and wants to make him as the prince. However, YI is afraid that his acceptance of being the prince will lead to unavoidable trouble, so he rejects this and leaves the country. A minor minister, LEUNG WONG, insults the ladies of the palace. BOOT TAI wants to penalize him with the punishment of castration. However, LAI KI conceals his fault in order to have his power to usurp the throne. HIN KUNG decides to make CHAI as the prince. However, CHAI thinks that he has indirectly killed SAN, so he refuses to be the prince. LAI KI forces him to accept the status with death, and CHAI accepts it finally. NG is angry to have his status taken away by CHAI, so he co-operates with La CHUK to persecute CHAI. But they are stopped by LEUNG NG. In the fight, NG is captured……

By the time LAI KI is going to persecute NG, CHAI helps them to flee away without caring for his own life. This makes LAI KI very angry. After NG flees away successfully, he still wants to kill CHAI. This is fortunately stopped by YI. YI lets CHAI go back to Chun. NG submits to the Country of Leung to wait for the chance of getting back the status as a prince. YI goes to the north so as to gather more capable people to overthrow the Chun government. YI appreciates TUI's ability and wisdom and wants to ask him to follow him. However, TUI rejects it with the excuse of caring his mother. Later, TUI's mother knows that actually TUI has the intention to have a great deed. Therefore, she persuades TUI to follow and help YI. TUI promises finally. HAI knows that NG is very eager to get back the status as a prince……

YI and SHUI go north. On the way, there is some misunderstanding between them and KWAI WEI and SHUK WEI. Later, YI meets HA TAN again. Their misunderstanding is resolved by TAN. HA TAN respects YI and invites him to live in Pak Dik temporarily. YI promises him so as to have the chance to recover himself. YI and SHUI participate in a special competition in Pak Dik and get the greatest honour. According to the custom, they have to marry any one of the women in the tribe. TAN takes the chance to arrange the marriage between YI and KWAI WEI. However, YI takes the excuse of his wandering life to reject the marriage. SHUK WEI forces SHUI to marry her. But SHUI refuses it strongly. On the other hand, KWAI WEI is very disappointed that YI has refused the marriage. So she expresses her love to YI but it is still no use. KWAI WEI feels very embarrassed. YUET YING gives birth to a new baby, YU. They are both taken care of by YING……

YING gets the message of the wedding between YI and KWAI WEI and becomes very angry. She immediately goes to ask YI. YI explains that he escapes from their marriage because he does not want to be controlled by Qin. YING still cannot accept his explanation and hurts YI with a knife. Years later, NG is still imprisoned by MUK KUNG. He is very disappointed and thus puts all his hope on his son, YU. However, YU is too stupid to have any improvement in his 'kung fu'. NG is very disappointed again. HIN KUNG is seriously ill. LAI KI assumes the whole power of the country, ruling the country disorderly. KU TAK persuades HIN KUNG to recall YI back to assist in ruling the country. However, this is discovered by LAI KI. She even kills HIN KUNG to avoid further trouble. After the death of HIN KUNG, LAI KI gives the order that CHAI succeeds to court rank……

YI is ill because of the death of KWAI WEI. Later, with the support and encouragement of MAO, he can finally regain his strength and continue his journey. When YI returns to his own state, he meets the past followers of MAO. They are all eager to follow him. However, YI thinks that this time he only wants to attend the burial of HIN KUNG, so he does not want to have too many followers. SHUI also accepts his feeling. On his way to Chun, YI meets YING again. However, she is still angry with him. Later, when she knows the death of KWAI WEI, she even sympathizes with YI. NG thinks that YI is going to compete for the rank with him, so he sends soldiers to defeat YI. YING knows that and goes to beg NG not to hurt YI. NG takes the chance to jeer at her and force her to marry his son, YU. In order to save YI, YING has to promise the marriage. When NG returns to Chun, he connects with LI HARD to initiate troops in mutiny……

NG wants to keep his promise with Qin to give part of his territorial land to MUK KUNG. But KU TAK persuades NG not to keep his promise with the reason that Qin will take the chance to attack Chun under this unstable condition. NG takes his advice. NG's unilateral action of arranging the marriage between YING and YU and his not keeping his promise make MUK KUNG very angry. MUK KUNG even wants to attack Chun but he is discouraged by HAI and asked to wait for a better chance to take revenge. YI is very depressed when he knows the marriage between YING and YU. His feeling is further reinforced by NG's series persecution on him. After the marriage, with the help of YU, YING can still keep her chastity. Later, YU even lets YING go back to Qin and this aggravates NG. Since YING fails to keep the marriage, NG takes this chance to kill all those Qin soldiers and not to give the contracted land to Qin. MUK KUNG is thus very angry……

On the way, YI is always chased by Chun's soldiers. Fortunately, he is helped by CHOR MO WONG. On hearing that KWUN CHUNG is seriously ill, YI wants to visit him. However, CHIU misunderstands him that he wants to conquer Chai and does not allow him to enter his territory. Finally, he lets YI into the territory after YI has emphasized for several times that he would not intervene in politics. CHUNG is afraid that Chor will connect with NG to attract Chai, so he strongly requests YI to assist in ruling the country. However, YI refuses so as to keep the promise with CHIU. Eventually, CHUNG dies with great regret. Before he dies, he requests WUN KUNG to take away YIK AH. WUN KUNG does not take the advice of CHUUG and even believes YIK AH very I much. Later, when WUN KUNG is ill, YIK AH connects with CHIU to cause internal disorder. YI stands out to control the situation. WUN KUNG knows that he is wrong……

NG finds the book recording LO CHUK's special 'kung fu' by chance. He wants to defeat YI by this. So he uses every filthy means to learn this so as to improve his kung fu. YI meets YING again. Although he knows the fictitious marriage between YING and YU, because of rules of etiquette, he still does not dare to have any close relation with YING. This makes YING very upset. BOOT TAI is afraid that if NG succeeds in improving his kung fu, he would kill many innocent. So he wants to kill NG. However, he is killed by NG instead. MUK KUNG is very worried about YING's sadness. Finally, TUI helps in resolving their problem. After NG has succeeded in learning the kung fu of LO CHUK, he arranges to fight with YI. YI is defeated. Fortunately, YI is rescued by WAH YU and little YING YI.

NG still continues to persecute YI. But he is finally defeated by WAH YU and dies. In view of the internal disorder in Chun, YI is encouraged to return to Chun to overthrow the government. He rules Chun in a virtuous manner, gaining increasing power. In view of the internal disorder in Chai, SUNG SHANG KUNG asks CHIU to suppress the disorder. SBANG KUNG thinks that he can then become the Lord of Covenants. So he gathers all feudal lords, but he is jeered at by CHOR MO WONG. He dies with great regret. CHOR WAI WONG is very eager to control the whole Honan, so he takes the initiate to fight with Chun. However, he is finally defeated by YI even though YI has given way to him. After YI's succession, TUI does not want to compete with other ministers for the prestige, so he goes to live uphill with his mother. MAO goes to visit him but is refused to be received. MAO sets fire to force him to go out……
