The Good Woman

Poland 2023: Ewa is determined to pursue a career as an artist now that her son Jakub is about to start school. She is invited to an interview at the prestigious art academy in Szczecin when she finds out that she is pregnant again. Although it is clear to Ewa that she does not want this pregnancy, there is no way for her to have a legal abortion in Poland. In order to meet her family's expectations and social pressure, she keeps her condition a secret for the time being. She secretly travels to Germany, but even here she cannot be helped immediately for legal reasons. The conflict with her husband Tomasz escalates when he finally finds out about her plans. In her final desperation, Ewa has to make a momentous decision.
